I had a brilliant experience with CodeClan - working with likeminded people, and honing my coding skills on an intense but fun course. I’m continuing to work on projects in Python, Java and JavaScript to build my fluency in the languages that I’ve learned so far. Going through CodeClan has given me the toolkit to keep learning and I'll keep building my coding skills from here. One of my goals in moving to a job in tech is that I'll be able to keep learning and developing. I’m really excited about the variety and opportunities to learn that working in coding will bring.

I am a creative person who loves new challenges. I like understanding the bigger picture and the moving parts that go into processes or applications, so I really enjoyed learning full-stack development and seeing how applications tie together. I love the instant reward of front-end development, being able to see in real time what the changes in your code are making. I also loved the challenge of getting things working on the back-end of the system. It’s really rewarding, fun problem solving. Overall, one of my biggest strengths is my attitude - I'm intellectually curious, willing to put in the hard work and am a positive influence in every team I'm part of.

My background is in higher education and finance. As a career changer my core competencies of problem solving, communication and organisation are skills that I will bring into the tech industry. Working in these fields allowed me to sharpen my skills in challenging environments where precision is really important. These experiences shaped me into an adaptable and well-rounded worker. I’m looking to work where I can build on my new technical skills while applying my past experience and learning more.
